Collaborative Trap, Neuter, and Return Program

Kitty

What is Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)?

TNR is a humane, effective approach to managing feral cats. These cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped and then returned to their outdoor home. If caught early enough, some kittens can be socialized and placed for adoption as a pet. Over time, the feral cat population should stabilize (ie. no more kittens) which will improve the feral cats life and relationships with their human neighbors because the behaviors associated with mating will stop.

How can you help?

  • Don’t add to the problem. Get your own cats spayed/neutered.
  • If you choose to feed feral cats, remember they need health care, as well. If you can’t manage ongoing care, at least get them spayed or neutered! Colony Care
  • Volunteer your time to help trap, transport, foster, educate etc.
